What sets these apart
Live music discovery built around the artists you follow
Bandsintown Concerts helps Android users find upcoming live shows, tour dates and nearby events. It suits listeners who want one place to track concerts instead of checking each artist’s website or a separate ticketing service. The app connects music discovery with the practical details of going to a show: where an artist is playing, when tickets become available and which sellers are linked to the event.
Where it has an edge
Its strongest use case is keeping a personal concert list current. Bandsintown can use listening information from services such as Spotify and Apple Music to suggest artists you may want to follow, reducing the work of building that list by hand. Location-based alerts then surface newly announced shows in your area, which is more useful than a general events feed when your priority is seeing specific performers.
- Artist tracking: Follow musicians and receive updates when relevant tour dates appear.
- Local discovery: Browse concerts by location, date and genre rather than relying only on broad music recommendations.
- Official ticket links: Event listings can direct you to recognised ticket sellers instead of leaving you to search for a purchase link yourself.
- Tour requests: Fans can signal that they want an artist to play in their city, a feature that gives the app a two-way connection between audiences and touring artists.
The trade-off against broader music apps
Bandsintown is more focused on live events than on streaming, playlists or general music playback. That focus is an advantage if concerts are the point, but it means the app is best used alongside—not instead of—a streaming service. Notifications may also need managing if you follow many artists, since a wider watchlist can produce more updates than you want.
